(News) Coca-Cola HBC Italy, the leading manufacturer and distributor of Coca-Cola branded products and Gardaland, Italy's largest amusement park, will celebrate "Earth Day" together. During the weekend of 21 and 22 April 2012, all visitors to Gardaland Park will receive a gift book for children "The Closet and the Tribe of recycling". Sponsored by the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea and non-profit organizations the book provides a simple guide to recycling.

The initiative is part of the partnership that Coca-Cola HBC Italy and Gardaland Park have formed to show their active commitment to the environment, respecting and preserving the natural resources of the territory. Through the partnership, launched in 2011, Coca-Cola HBC Italy Gardaland Park have urged consumers at the park to throw their empty cans in a recycling station shaped like a giant tin can. The recycling of the first 10,000 cans has resulted in a saving of 1 ton of CO2. The results of the first year of operation are just the beginning of a partnership that will continue in 2012 with the aim of raising awareness and further encouraging park visitors to be responsible with waste.

"This initiative is part of a larger project implemented by the Park to contribute actively to the resolution of environmental issues" said Alberto Giacomello, Landscape & Environment Manager Gardaland Resort.

Concern for the environment is Gardaland Resort integral part of its business, since November 2010, the Park adopted its own environmental policy and has simultaneously started work on the implementation of an environmental management system conforms to international standard UNI EN ISO 14001.
